Kalizma, an iconic 45.7-metre yacht built in 1906 by the Scottish shipbuilder Ramage & Ferguson, is today acknowledged as the oldest yacht in the world still in operation. During its lifetime, spanning more than a century, it has become a symbol of timeless elegance and beauty.
It once belonged to Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, who renamed it Kalizma, an acronym composed of the names of their three daughters, Kate, Liza and Maria. To this day, the yacht continues to evoke an allure of the silver screen, luxury and nautical history at its finest.
Today, after several restoration operations and conservative work to preserve its historical identity, Kalizma continues to sail the seas. In 2025, a new refit further enhanced the interiors, with top-of-the-range materials and bespoke detailing.
Foglie d’Oro has contributed to embellishing these exclusive interiors with its Azalea Ca’ Savio flooring, complemented by inserts in brass with a metal finish and Crema Marfil marble. The material composition strikes a sophisticated balance between nautical tradition and contemporary style, while the decorative geometries bring pace and depth to the space, turning the flooring into an element of distinction conceived to express the unique, timeless personality of Kalizma.
